(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today (08/06/2025) participated in the implementation of an international operational action codenamed "Euphrates", within which three individuals were deprived of liberty on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina based on a red notice, suspected of being members of an international organized crime group related to human trafficking, known as the "Al Sarawi clan".
The aforementioned organized crime group is actively operating on the territory of the European Union.
The operational action "Euphrates" was carried out in cooperation with judicial and police authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as other European Union countries, all within the framework of "OTF 505".
During the implementation of the aforementioned activities on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA cooperated with the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The individuals deprived of liberty will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will decide on the extradition of the suspects to the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany in an extradition procedure, it was announced from SIPA.
