SIPA arrests eight suspects for war crimes in Mostar and Nevesinje

(Patria) - Acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, SIPA police officers, in several cities, carried out the arrest of 8 suspects. The mentioned suspects are former commanders and members of the VRS, and they are suspected of crimes against the Bosniak population from the Nevesinje area. The crimes relate to the murder of about 100 Bosniak civilians at a location in Zijemlje, including several dozen women, elderly people, and a large number of children, including children aged 15 days to 2 years.

In the committed crime, almost entire families Ploskić, Šipković, Aličić, Alibašić, Mahinić, Brajević, Čopelj, and other victims were killed.

The remains of 49 people have been found, while the remains of 47 victims are still being searched for. Within the work on the case, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has achieved good and intensive cooperation with SIPA BiH and OSA BiH. The suspects will be handed over to the acting prosecutor within the legal deadline, who will question them and make a decision on further activities.
