SIPA arrests one person for drug trafficking

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) this morning, as part of the continued operation „Oskar“ in the Sarajevo area, deprived of liberty a person with initials V.D. (1986) due to reasonable suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of organized crime, in connection with the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking in narcotic drugs, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- During the operation, a residential building and a vehicle used by the deprived person were searched. These activities were carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SIPA police officers conducted a months-long complex criminal investigation that resulted in establishing facts and gathering evidence about the criminal activities of the suspects. Significant cooperation was achieved with the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the work on the case.

In the previous period, within the framework of the „Oskar“ case, a total of 15 persons were deprived of liberty in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, with the last deprivations of liberty carried out on 11.12.2014, when SIPA deprived eight persons of liberty and searched premises at ten locations. Over three kilograms of the narcotic drug heroin were temporarily seized.

The deprived person has been brought to the official premises of SIPA and is undergoing criminal processing, after which, along with a report on the committed criminal offense and the perpetrators, he will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further proceedings.
