SIPA arrests nine persons and seizes COVID certificates and PCR tests

As part of the operation "Posrednik" conducted today by members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), nine persons were arrested.

This information was confirmed by Jelena Miovčić, spokesperson for SIPA.

- Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today, as part of the operational action "Posrednik" in the area of Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, Visoko and Breza, carried out searches of residential and auxiliary buildings and movable property at 13 locations, on which occasion nine persons were arrested – stated Miovčić.

The arrested persons were taken to SIPA premises for criminal processing and questioning as suspects, and after the completion of these actions, they will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

- During the search, a larger number of COVID certificates and PCR tests were discovered and temporarily seized, as well as other items that may serve as evidence that criminal offenses prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were committed – stated Miovčić.

Earlier, SIPA stated that the searches are being conducted with the aim of documenting criminal offenses of association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses, receiving gifts or other forms of benefit, giving gifts or other forms of benefit, giving rewards or other forms of benefit for influence peddling, forgery of documents, preventing proof, abuse of position or authority, giving false testimony, and forgery of official documents.
