SIPA Arrests Four Individuals for War Crimes

Acting on the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) this morning deprived four individuals of their liberty in the area of Stolac municipality due to war crimes, reports the Patria news agency.

Deprived of liberty were individuals with initials M.P. (1961), M.R. (1948), I.M. (1959), and V.K. (1956) due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population in the area of Stolac municipality during 1993, in connection with Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Individual and Command Responsibility."

Acting on the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA investigators are searching the premises used by the suspects with the aim of finding and temporarily seizing items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The deprived individuals will be brought to the official premises of SIPA, where they will undergo criminal investigation, after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further action.
