SIPA in Zenica seized 35 kg of tobacco and thousands of cigarette packs, one person arrested

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) yesterday, in the area of Zenica, during the search of residential premises and movable property, discovered and temporarily seized items that can serve as evidence in criminal proceedings.

As explained, 35 kilograms of finely cut tobacco ready for use and packaged in half-kilogram packages were found, then five kilograms of finely cut tobacco ready for use in bulk, 2,920 hand-rolled cigarettes, 7,886 packs of cigarettes of various types without control and tax stamps prescribed by the legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one digital scale, one mobile phone, cash in the amount of 4,900 euros and 526 KM, as well as other items that can serve as evidence in further proceedings.

"One person was arrested due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of 'Illegal trade in excise goods', prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The arrested person will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina after criminal processing and questioning as a suspect," SIPA announced.

The mentioned activities were carried out on the verbal order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
