(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency yesterday (08.06.2024) in the area of Mokro, Pale municipality, discovered a plantation of the narcotic drug marijuana. The marijuana plantation was hidden in the premises of a former sawmill in Mokro, SIPA announced this morning.
"Over 1,152 plant stems resembling marijuana plants were discovered and temporarily seized, as well as equipment for growing narcotics, a large quantity of marijuana seedlings grown in a special improvised laboratory, and 13 kilograms of plant material resembling marijuana, which was ready for sale.
Searches were carried out at two locations and two persons were deprived of liberty, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of 'Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs' as prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska.
The arrested persons will, after criminal processing and questioning as suspects, be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the acting prosecutor," the statement said.
These activities were carried out under an oral order of the District Court in East Sarajevo, under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo, and in cooperation with police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska.
