
(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), with the assistance of police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, acted upon the order of the Basic Court in Bijeljina for the search of an apartment, other premises, movable property and persons, and temporary seizure of evidence, and the order of the District Public Prosecutor's Office Bijeljina for the execution of the court order in the case codenamed „Kanas“.
A search was conducted at one location in the Bijeljina area, and during the search, items that could serve as evidence in criminal proceedings and be linked to the commission of the criminal offense „Illegal production and trafficking of weapons or explosives“, prescribed by Article 361, Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, were found and temporarily seized.
During the operational action, one suspect was apprehended and underwent criminal processing and was questioned as a suspect, after which they were released in agreement with the acting prosecutor.
In this case, intensive cooperation was achieved in the previous period with the police authorities of the Republic of Serbia, SBPOK, then with the police and judicial authorities of the Republic of Slovenia and Europol. During the work on the case, support was provided by the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center – SELEC.
