SIPA: New arrests for war crimes

Acting on the order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, SIPA police officers, in the area of Sarajevo, deprived of liberty the suspects Kešmer Samir, born in 1974, and Menzilović Mirsad, born in 1975.

The said suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and are charged with having committed a serious violation of international humanitarian law during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army of Republika Srpska, as members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They are charged with having, in 1993, in the area of a Sarajevo settlement, committed multiple sexual abuse and rape of a minor, a girl of Serbian nationality who lived in the area of the city of Sarajevo that was under the control of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge during the day, who will examine the suspects, after which a decision will be made on filing a motion for detention or prohibition measures in accordance with the law.
