SIPA, MUP ZDK: Searches at 20 locations

(Patria) - As part of the strategic commitment of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, in the fight against organized crime and corruption, an extensive police operation codenamed "Meta 2" has been underway since the early morning hours, which is the result of several months of operational activities by police officers of the Police Administration of the MUP of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted at twenty locations, aiming to find and seize items that will be used as evidence in criminal proceedings against twenty individuals who are the targets of this operation and who are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses" in connection with the criminal offenses of "Abuse of official position or authority" and the criminal offenses of "Receiving gifts and other benefits", "Disclosure of official secrets", "Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs" and "Grand theft".

Given that active police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton are among the suspects, this operation represents a strong and energetic response to suppressing corrupt practices among police officers and prosecuting and documenting all illegal actions of which police officers are suspected.

The searches are being carried out under the orders of the Municipal Courts in Zenica and Kakanj, and the police teams are acting in cooperation and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton and in coordination with police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
