SIPA will appeal the BiH Court's verdict for Rašid Palić

After the BiH Court, with a non-final verdict, reinstated Rašid Palić, the dismissed head of the SIPA Regional Office in Sarajevo, the BiH Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Goran Zubac, Director of SIPA, and other responsible persons for abuse of office.

Thus, the investigation could be extended to persons in the Internal Control Department of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Disciplinary Commission, as well as other responsible persons of the Agency due to reasonable suspicion that during 2012, starting from April, while performing official duties as responsible persons of the Internal Control Department within the State Investigation and Protection Agency, as well as other management personnel from the Agency, committed the criminal offense of abuse of office or authority.

Goran Zubac has not commented since the BiH Court ruled that Palić was suspended outside of legal procedures. However, as confirmed for the BiH news agency Patria by SIPA, this agency will use all legal options before reinstating Palić to his position.

This means that SIPA will appeal the rendered verdict, but they do admit that if they lose, they will have to reinstate Palić to his job.

-       The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) does not comment on court verdicts. In this specific case, the Agency will act in accordance with the verdict of the BiH Court and use its legal options – they told NAP from SIPA.
