SIPA will have a Department for Combating Terrorism

The Council of Ministers of BiH has determined and will submit to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH the Bill on the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), which regulates the issues of its jurisdiction, internal organization, tasks, and official cooperation in a higher quality and more complete manner.

SIPA remains an administrative organization of the Ministry of Security of BiH with operational independence, established to perform police duties and will operate exclusively on professional grounds, with its headquarters in East Sarajevo.

With this law, SIPA gets a new organizational unit - the Department for Combating Terrorism in accordance with the guidelines and directives of the European Union (EU) in the field of security and more effective fight against terrorism.

The adoption of the new law, proposed by the Ministry of Security, is practically the only possible solution given that the existing law has been significantly amended three times.
