Union demands salary increase for employees in primary education in Sarajevo Canton

Teachers in primary schools in Sarajevo Canton could get a salary increase, starting from the beginning of next year.
The president of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing in SC, Saudin Sivro, told Patria that in the past year, significant savings were achieved in primary education in SC through rationalization of workplaces and other costs, and that all conditions have been created for salary increases for employees in primary education in SC.

- The increases will depend on the workplace, and will range from 20, 30, 40 KM or more. Annually, this is a significant amount of funds – says Sivro.

In Sarajevo Canton, approximately 36,500 students attend primary education, and about 3,200 workers are employed in primary education. The canton's budget for 2016 is around 696 million KM, of which about 70 million KM, or 12 percent, is allocated to primary education, writes NAP.
