(Patria) - Regarding the news published by Patria about a letter to delegates of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina ahead of tomorrow's session and decision on the proposed amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances for employees in institutions, which was sent by "Heads of Departments" in salary grade B4, expressing their dissatisfaction and stating that it is unfair, with the "unclear" role of the trade union being highlighted, the Trade Union of the State Investigation and Protection Agency stated that it supports the proposed amendments to the law because they fairly and linearly increase the salaries of all employees, police officers up to the rank of "Senior Inspector" or civil servants up to the title of "Professional Advisor", and reduce the injustices established by the law enacted in 2008.
"Namely, the Law on Salaries and Allowances for employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina created a significant difference between the salary grades of civil servants in salary grade B3 - "Professional Advisor" and B-4 "Head of Department", given that for salary grade "0" the coefficient is set at B3 - 2.73 and for B4 - 3.25, which ultimately results in a salary difference, according to the currently valid base, of 247.00 KM, while in salary grade "6" for the same positions, this difference amounts to 461.00 KM in favor of "Heads of Departments". At the same time, some categories of employees receive a salary of 475.69 KM.
The proposed amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances reduce this difference to 152.00 KM in salary grade "0" and 366.00 KM in salary grade "6", which still represents a significant difference," the SIPA Trade Union announced.
In this regard, they called on the delegates of the House of Peoples to consider, when making decisions during tomorrow's session, that the aforementioned amendments "help" the most vulnerable categories of employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that the salary of "cleaners" and "janitors" will increase from the current 475.69 KM to 570.00 KM, the salary of "police officers" from the current 899.00 KM to 1027.00 KM, the salary of "soldiers" from the current 713.00 KM to 832.00 KM, and for these reasons, to raise their hands and support the adoption of this law.
We hope that you will not let us down this time either, given that employees in police agencies have been brought to the brink of existence," the SIPA Trade Union announced.
