Union of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton: Who in the Police Administration will be held accountable for budget damage of 800,000 KM

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Union of Police Officers, Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton expects an urgent response from investigative authorities regarding evident illegalities in the work of the leadership of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

Referring to the arrest of police officers within the operation Sparta, the Union expects investigative and judicial authorities to also crack down on „high-ranking“ crime in the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton in the same way they do with police officers holding entry-level ranks and the lowest-ranking officials.

“Primarily, we refer to the tender procurement of bulletproof vests that are unusable. None of the leaders of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton has been held accountable for the budget damage of 800,000 KM,” the Union stated.

They claim that the Union absolutely supports a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal work by police officers that undermines the dignity of the police service and the security system.

Furthermore, they support investigative and judicial authorities in their work, from whom they expect lawful and impartial conduct, as announced by the Union of Police Officers, Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton.
