Border Police Union: Finally, let the truth be heard, at some crossings we don't even have a toilet!

Dragan Krvavac, president of the Border Police Union of BiH, once again reminded of the catastrophic conditions in which a significant number of border police officers work, after state representative Saša Magazinović (SDP) spoke on this topic.

Krvavac is grateful to Magazinović that someone finally spoke about the non-existent infrastructure, and ultimately about all those torn or dirty flags that greet us on rusty flagpoles at the entrance to BiH. The Union has long warned about the poor condition and poor position of police officers in police agencies at the state level, starting with salaries, equipment, and other working conditions. Most parliamentarians have been informed through discussions and have understood the conditions in which police officers work, on which occasion they expressed readiness to help and improve the status and working conditions of police officers.

- People work in inhumane conditions. Do you know that at some border crossings we don't even have toilets? It's a horror. I've been writing about this for years, but no one did anything. Now they have allocated 200,000 KM for border crossings, but that's pitiful. We have been fighting for a long time, but in vain. We hope that something will change now - says Krvavac for Patria.

The situation at border crossings is a disgrace to all politicians, from members of the BiH Presidency to municipal mayors.

Incidentally, the alarmingly poor working conditions of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina prompted Saša Magazinović, a representative in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and president of the Main Board of the SDP BiH, to raise this issue in parliamentary benches.

He demands that the public be informed whether there is an analysis of the condition and working conditions of the Border Police, and what has been concretely done in the last year to improve border crossings and the working conditions of the Border Police of BiH.

- According to the provisions of the Law on Border Control, the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH is responsible for the construction, expansion, renovation, management, and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure at border crossings. I call on representatives of all competent institutions not to resort to shifting responsibility, but to do everything within their power to improve the situation at border crossings.

Due to someone's negligence and incompetence, our police officers work in catastrophic conditions. We can rightly ask ourselves whether there is an end to the shame that this government brings to the state and its citizens - said Magazinović.

Yesterday, Zoran Galić, director of the Border Police, also spoke, also expressing gratitude to MP Saša Magazinović for his initiative for the infrastructural improvement of border crossings and the improvement of working conditions of the Border Police of BiH.
