GINEX Union Defends Management, Accuses Novalić and Džindić of Destroying the Company

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - GINEX management and union have announced a production halt if the announced dismissal of director Munevera Fočo and the rest of the management comes true. They believe politics has interfered.

FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and Minister of Industry and Energy Nermin Džindić have been identified as the main culprits.

- They don't care about Goražde. They want to destroy Goražde, they want to move GINEX somewhere else in Bosnia. If that happens, the city of old people will remain here. The workers believe that the director and the management are good to the workers, and we will protect them, said Kemo Polutak, deputy president of the GINEX Union.

Everything is suspicious to the workers because, as they say, attempts are being made to push things through before the May Day and Eid holidays.

- I think it's all staged because most of the workers will be on vacation. They thought there would be no resistance, thinks Elmir Vranj, president of the GINEX Union.

There will be resistance, because if the FBiH Government dismisses the director tomorrow, a work stoppage will be organized for Friday, when the Supervisory Board meeting is scheduled. Initially for half an hour, and the union does not rule out other forms of struggle. This includes a complete work stoppage.

The union hopes that the FBiH Government will withdraw the planned item about dismissal tomorrow. Director Fočo was supposed to be dismissed earlier because her performance report was not adopted. The Government then changed its mind, and the report was accepted later.

Workers say that the management is criticized for a lack of investment, but they claim that no one who does not work at GINEX can know that. Such complaints existed before, and GINEX currently has over 45 million KM in its account that can be invested.

Minority shareholders criticize the Government for not paying dividends. FUP has requested business documentation from GINEX to verify claims that the company's profit is being reduced through intermediary contracts.
