Rapist and murderer Dragan Paravinja sentenced to 40 years in prison

Dragan Paravinja was sentenced today to 35 years in prison for the aggravated murder and attempted rape of Antonija Bilić from Drniš in June 2011. A unified prison sentence of 40 years was imposed, combined with other previously determined sentences. Namely, Paravinja also has two prior convictions for attempted rape, reports the Patria News Agency.

The third retrial of Paravinja concluded yesterday at the County Court in Split. Paravinja was twice sentenced to 40 years in prison in Šibenik for aggravated murder and attempted rape, but the Supreme Court overturned these verdicts. The trial was moved to Split because there were no longer any judges in Šibenik who had not been involved in this case.
