Sheinbaum: US sent us migrants not from our country

(Patria) - Mexico received non-Mexican migrants last week, said the country's president yesterday Claudia Sheinbaum, contrary to an earlier announcement that it would oppose this.

Sheinbaum announced that Mexico received more than four thousand deportees, and that "the vast majority" of them were Mexicans. This number also includes people sent from the US on four flights, Reuters reports.

- Since Donald Trump's return to the White House, there has not been a "significant" increase in deportations from the US to Mexico - said Sheinbaum.

The president previously stated that her left-wing government opposes the return of the Trump administration's "Remain in Mexico" program, under which non-Mexican migrants would be returned to Mexico while awaiting the process of reviewing their applications to enter the US.
