Ševarika sentenced to two and a half years in prison for war crimes in Kneževo

The District Court in Banja Luka sentenced Radomir Ševarika to two and a half years in prison for crimes in the municipality of Kneževo.

Ševarika was found guilty of participating in the beating and murder of prisoners in early October 1992. According to the verdict, on October 2 or 3, 1992, Ševarika took prisoners Mato Marković and Milan Nikić from the basement of the Post Office in Kneževo and drove them to the village of Borak, where the positions of the Serbian army were located, and beat them there.

Presiding judge Snježana Kudrić said that Ševarika's guilt was proven beyond doubt.

Ševarika's brother, Ranko, was also accused in this case, but the District Prosecutor's Office withdrew the indictment against him during the proceedings.

There is a possibility of appeal against this verdict, writes BIRN, reports Patria.
