Six-year-old needs help, 120,000 euros needed for treatment in Russia

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Six-year-old Vedad Avdagić from Ilijaš, who has suffered epileptic seizures since birth, needs a lot of money for treatment.

The boy does not walk or talk, and last year he was diagnosed with severe epileptic encephalopathy type 42, CACNA1A gene mutation, and severe brain disease.

Doctors at the Clinic for Children's Diseases in Zagreb recommend the implantation of a device to regulate epileptic seizures, which costs almost 20,000 euros, and the parents hope to receive the funds from the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This would be a significant step, they state, as the boy could then continue his treatment in Russia. For this treatment, according to the proforma invoice, 120,000 euros are needed.

The treatment would last three years, in stages, and for the first trip, 27,400 euros would need to be secured, with subsequent payments made before departure.

His parents do not have this money, and he can be helped in two ways: by calling a humanitarian number or by donating to the account of the association "Mali ljudi velikog srca" (Little People with Big Hearts).

Humanitarian number 090 291 010, donation 2 KM - BH Telecom only

Account - Raiffesen bank 1610000112920039 with the note "for the treatment of Avdagić Vedad"
