Six months since the canopy collapse in Novi Sad and the death of 16 people: Students installed a memorial plaque

(Patria) - Six months have passed since the canopy collapse in Novi Sad today, and students and citizens paid tribute to the 16 victims at 11:52 AM in front of the Railway Station. Students from Novi Sad today installed a memorial plaque on the green area in front of the Railway Station, which reads "Novi Sad Remembers 1.11.2024".

They did what the City of Novi Sad has not done for half a year.

War veterans laid flowers, and young people laid a wreath that reads "Students Remember".

At the same time, citizens have been placing and lighting candles at the same spot where they have been doing so since November 1st, by the fence surrounding the station building.

Today, students also revealed another of their actions – they hung a banner on a billboard in front of the Railway Station that reads "We did not reconstruct the canopy".

The plan is to "reconstruct" all billboards on Bulevar oslobođenja in this manner – 36 scandals of the current government will be written on the billboards.
