The Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has upheld the verdict sentencing Marijan Brnjić to six years in prison for a war crime committed in Odžak, while Barukčić and the brothers Pavo and Ilija Glavaš were acquitted.
The Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected the appeals of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Defense of Marijan Brnjić and upheld the first-instance verdict. Brnjić was convicted of raping Vera Bijelić, while he was acquitted of the charge that he, together with Martin Barukčić, raped Ljubica Lešić.
With this verdict, Brnjić, Barukčić, and the brothers Pavo and Ilija Glavaš were acquitted of charges that they raped Milica Đekić and Zorka Lešić, and Barukčić was acquitted of the rape of Joka Goranović, BIRN reported, as carried by NAP.
