Šeranić: An individual's comfort cannot be prioritized over public health

(Patria) - Minister of Health and Social Protection of Republika Srpska Alen Šeranić said at a press conference that an individual's comfort cannot be prioritized over public health.

"If we can all behave responsibly, then I expect people in quarantine to be responsible and endure 14 days," Šeranić said.

The minister said he expects citizens to continue to behave in accordance with the measures and recommendations taken.

"I thank them for doing so until now," Šeranić said.

He stated that all those in quarantine will be tested before they leave quarantine and join the local community.

"If the need for testing arises within the quarantine itself, it will be respected," the minister said, adding that until a few days ago, about 400 tests were performed at border crossings.

"All were negative, which is why we decided that people from border crossings would be sent into isolation without testing," the minister emphasized.

Šeranić praised the workers at the Student Center and the Dormitory in Banja Luka, who, as he pointed out, are making a significant contribution to the fight against the coronavirus.

"I would also like to praise the workers at the Student Center and the Dormitory. There are people working there, such as cooks and cleaners, who are making a huge contribution to all of this. Entire families are suffering," Šeranić said.

He told citizens that they should not doubt the measures that are in the interest of public health and the entire community.
