Šepić: We can propose a better solution together to save the economy and jobs

(Patria) - Senad Šepić, president of the Independent Bloc, points out that from the very beginning of the crisis, the Independent Bloc and he personally have supported the Crisis Staff to fight together faster against the coronavirus. 

“We have put aside all our differences and political disagreements. Our teams – health and especially economic – have been actively working, preparing and sending proposals for measures and solutions to the authorities. We were the first political party to request from the FBiH Government on March 12th to form a Crisis Staff to help entrepreneurs and preserve jobs. They rejected us. They said they would deal with the economy after people's health. And we saw how they dealt with it – the procurement of tests and ventilators – furniture and raspberry companies are the answer to that question. 

We have sent dozens of amendments, proposals for amendments to laws and solutions for helping the economy at both federal and state levels. They rejected everything. Why? Why are they doing this and consciously destroying this country and its potential? Where the Independent Bloc is in power, in USK, we have acted promptly and responsibly – we have adopted and are taking concrete steps, but for more significant support to the economy, the FBiH Government and Parliament are needed. And there is still nothing from them,” says Šepić. 

After more than a month and a half – the Federation still does not have a law, and even the one prepared, known as the corona law, is more of a pre-corona disaster law. 

“Instead of helping to preserve jobs, it stimulates layoffs and sending workers to the bureau, and such an approach by the FBiH Government will cost us more and set us back more than the corona and all its consequences so far. Therefore, I ask you – put everything aside – I call on all those who have been against this so far to propose together and urgently do it, a better solution – a Law to save the economy and jobs, and try to save what can be saved. The people are aware that this situation and these solutions are not good, it is our obligation to propose better and try to do something. This will surely be a useful action that will open the door to major changes that we all need in BiH.
