(Patria) - Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal, said Senator Bernie Sanders.
"He should not be invited to address a joint session of Congress. I certainly will not attend. Israel, of course, had the right to defend itself against Hamas's horrific terrorist attack on October 7, but it did not and does not have the right to wage war against the entire Palestinian people," Sanders emphasized.
He stressed that "Israel does not have the right to kill more than 34,000 civilians".
"It has no right to orphan 19,000 children. It has no right to destroy Gaza's healthcare system, putting 26 hospitals out of use and killing more than 400 healthcare workers. It certainly has no right to block humanitarian aid from reaching a desperate population in Gaza, creating conditions of starvation and famine. This is a clear violation of American and international law," Sanders stated. .
He reminds that the International Court of Justice is seeking the arrest of Netanyahu and Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas.
"The court is right. Both of these individuals are involved in obvious and outrageous violations of international law," Sanders concluded.
