Senad Koštac from Velika Kladuša arrested in Turkey while attempting to go to Syria

In joint cooperation between the BiH Prosecutor's Office and partner institutions in Turkey and Montenegro, a BiH citizen was apprehended in Turkey while attempting to go to Syria and join the structures of the so-called ISIL, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

A prosecutor from the Counter-Terrorism Department of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, after the suspect was brought in, conducted an interrogation and will later decide on further actions.

While attempting to go to Syria, Koštac Senad, born on 11/20/1993 from Velika Kladuša, was apprehended in the territory of the Republic of Turkey.

The said individual was apprehended after devising a plan, gathering funds, and setting off towards Syria to join the structures of the so-called ISIL, which has been declared a terrorist organization by the UN.

According to the collected evidence, the suspect traveled from BiH to Podgorica, and then by plane towards Turkey, where he was apprehended.

In a coordinated action by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and partner institutions, the suspect was returned from Turkey to Montenegro, and at the border crossing with BiH, he was handed over to BiH police officers and taken to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, where he was interrogated.

The said suspect is under investigation for committing the criminal offense of - Illegal Formation and Joining Foreign Paramilitary or Parapolice Formations from Article 162b of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office continues intensive activities in the fight against terrorism and activities related to terrorism.
