Semizovac: Train kills 69-year-old woman

(Patria) - An elderly woman (69) was fatally injured this morning when a train traveling on the Sarajevo - Visoko route hit her near the Old Railway Station in Semizovac.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Sarajevo Canton (KS), Mersiha Novalić, confirmed that the accident was reported to the police at 9 AM. The train hit the woman as she was crossing the tracks, not at a marked pedestrian crossing.

A team from the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service arrived at the scene and confirmed the woman's death at 9:15 AM, writes Faktor.

The duty cantonal prosecutor has been informed, and an investigation team is being formed to conduct an on-site investigation.

Rail traffic is currently suspended.
