Scam Scheme: Accused Defrauded 32 Companies of Over 800,000 KM

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton against Sanjin Avdić, Dženita Riđešić, Muhamed Osmanović, Admir Šenderović, Maida Avdić, and Bariša Bejtović.

Sanjin Avdić, Dženita Riđešić, and Muhamed Osmanović are accused of the criminal offense of participating in a group of people in connection with the criminal offenses of fraud and fraud in economic operations, while Admir Šenderović, Maida Avdić, and Bariša Bejtović are charged with the criminal offense of fraud.

According to the indictment, Sanjin Avdić, Dženita Riđešić, and Muhamed Osmanović acted as a criminal group from 2019 to 2024, which the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office accuses of defrauding 32 companies across Bosnia and Herzegovina, causing them damages of over 800,000 KM.

It is stated that the members of the group, led by Sanjin Avdić, had predetermined roles and tasks and acted in a coordinated manner according to the organizer's instructions with the aim of obtaining unlawful property benefits. The defrauded companies, as stated, were misled by false representations and the presentation of business cooperation, after which they took over goods of significant value without the intention of paying for them.

The companies delivered goods to them that were never paid for, and Osmanović, according to the indictment, mostly played the role of an intermediary in taking over the goods, while Sanjin Avdić organized the orders and communication with the defrauded companies. It is also stated that Avdić enabled the other accused to obtain illegal benefits in the same way.

The acting prosecutor proposed to the court the confiscation of property benefits from the accused in the amount of 842,833.39 KM. For the main trial, it is proposed to hear 136 witnesses, three experts, and present 1,052 material evidence.

The indictment was preceded by a complex investigation by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, conducted in cooperation with several police agencies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Una-Sana Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of West Herzegovina Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, and the police of Brčko District of BiH, in accordance with the Law on Legal Assistance and Cooperation in Criminal Matters between Entities and Brčko District of BiH.
