Selimović hosted the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in BiH: Support for strengthening the financial system

(Patria) - Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Jasmina Selimović, held a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in BiH, Mr. John Ginkel.

During the conversation, long-standing partnership relations between the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and institutions of the United States of America were highlighted, especially in the process of financial sector reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Governor Selimović presented current macroeconomic projections for Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that, despite global challenges, the domestic economy shows resilience thanks to a stable monetary framework and credible currency board policy.

Governor Selimović stressed that the currency board, which forms the basis of the monetary system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a key pillar of macroeconomic stability and confidence in the domestic currency. Preserving the independence of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains a key priority, the interlocutors concluded.

Ginkel praised the consistency of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing the currency board policy and its transparent approach to the public, and expressed the readiness of the U.S. Embassy to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to strengthening the financial system and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
