Šehovac: 132 kg of drugs seized, five persons arrested, street value one million KM

(Patria) - Members of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska and the Gendarmerie found 132 kilograms of drugs resembling the narcotic drug marijuana after intercepting a van near Sarajevo in Krupac, it was said at today's press conference held by Branimir Šehovac, chief of the East Sarajevo Police Administration.

The value of the seized drugs is close to one million marks when it comes to street sale, Šehovac said.

Five persons from Foča were arrested, four men and one woman. They have already been handed over for criminal processing.

"These persons will be handed over to the competent District Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo after criminal processing," said Šehovac, adding that activities are being undertaken in Foča and Trebinje with the aim of documenting this criminal offense.

The police seized a large quantity of drugs on the road towards Bjelašnica, on the territory of the entity of Republika Srpska, after intercepting a van.

The van had a false bottom, and the drugs were stored in that location, from where police officers removed them.

In the last three years, this is the largest drug seizure in the area of East Sarajevo.
