Head of Ukrainian military intelligence Budanov: Navalny died of natural causes

(Patria) - Head of Ukrainian military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov stated that Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny died of natural causes.

"I will probably disappoint you, but Navalny died of thrombosis. This is more or less confirmed. This is not information from the internet, but it is, unfortunately, a natural death," Budanov told reporters, as reported by Srna citing Ukrainska Pravda.

Navalny's family and associates blame Russian President Vladimir Putin for his death. The Kremlin has rejected all accusations.

Navalny died on February 16 in a prison in a remote area near the Arctic, where he was serving a 19-year sentence for extremism.

The state prison service stated that Navalny died from sudden death syndrome after feeling unwell during a walk in the prison colony.

Authorities handed over Navalny's body to his mother yesterday.
