Seven police officers injured in another London 'party'

(Patria) – Seven police officers were injured in violence that broke out at a music event in west London, held without permission.

An intervention team was dispatched to the location after reports of a 'large, noisy gathering, antisocial behaviour and violence'.

Heavy and lethal objects such as bricks were thrown at the police as they tried to break through the crowd due to the epidemiological risk.

The crowd eventually dispersed, and despite the injuries to police officers, there were no arrests.

A police statement said such gatherings are illegal and pose a health risk due to the coronavirus epidemic.

In the past two weeks, London police have been forced to intervene multiple times due to unauthorized gatherings. At just one such 'party' in Brixton on June 24, more than 20 police officers were injured.
