SDS demands reports on RTRS crime

The Serb Democratic Party (SDS) accused the management of RTRS of working exclusively for the ruling SNSD and Milorad Dodik, stating that no one knows the TV station's debt to suppliers, while the debt to employees is 4.5 million KM and to BHRT is 11 million KM.

SDS President Vukota Govedarica held a press conference today, calling on the General Director of Radio Television of Republika Srpska, Draško Milinović, to explain the reasons for the economic collapse of the public television service in RS. Govedarica said that a few days ago he sent an open letter to Milinović requesting a public explanation of the situation at RTRS, but received no response.

“Milinović, along with the editors, has usurped the public service of Republika Srpska. Instead of being a corrective force for the government, we have a public service that is at the service of one political party,” said Govedarica, adding that RTRS has been turned into the party megaphone of SNSD.

The editorial board of RTRS has waged an open media war against SDS, PDP, and NDP, which, united in the Alliance for Change, form the state government, along with partners SDA, HDZ BiH, and SBB, while in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, they are the opposition to Milorad Dodik's SNSD.

RTRS calls the Alliance for Change traitors to the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, while, analysts warn, this media service does not report on the corruption scandals of SNSD and entity president Milorad Dodik, despite being a public RTV service funded by all citizens.

Govedarica demanded that Milinović answer how many apartments and cars RTRS owns, when they were purchased, and how much they cost. He asked the RTRS director to also explain how he intends to settle the unpaid contributions to employees. Govedarica also requested an answer on how much the broadcasts of the Roland Garros tennis tournament cost RTRS, how much program and technical equipment procurements cost, where they were purchased from, from whom, and what their prices were.

SDS accused that RTRS's news programs are created in the office of RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović, reports NAP.
