SDS and HDZ Agreed: Council of Ministers Finally Sets the Opening Date of the State Prison

(Patria) - At the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH scheduled for March 11, the Proposal for a Decision on determining the start date of the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed by the Ministry of Justice of BiH, will finally be on the agenda.

We remind you that the decisions that would unlock the delay in opening the state prison, which was supposed to officially start operating on January 1, were before the state ministers several times at the previous session, but were persistently removed from the agenda.

The construction of the prison cost just under 40 million euros, with nearly 11 million euros coming from donor funds, and the rest from loans and the BiH budget.

The problem is the appointment of the prison warden, and HDZ and SDS cannot agree on this position. Incidentally, the practice has become established that the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH is interrupted at the point for which it is known in advance that there is no consensus.
