SDP demands that the Government secure funds for the fight against corruption and organized crime in FBiH

The Social Democratic Party (SDP BiH) demands that the FBiH Government include amendments in the Draft Budget of FBiH for 2016 that relate to securing funds for the implementation of the Law on Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in FBiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The proposal of the FBiH Budget for 2016 will also be considered at the session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament on Thursday.

SDP demands that funds for the implementation of the Law on Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in FBiH be secured through the budget.

- The purpose of the proposed amendments is to secure the necessary financial resources for the implementation of the Law on Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in FBiH.

This law clearly stipulates the method of financing the Special Departments within the Supreme Court of FBiH and the Federal Prosecutor's Office, in a way that funds for the work of these institutions are secured within the budget of the Supreme Court and the Federal Prosecutor's Office.

In addition to being a legal obligation, this method ensures the complete financial independence of these judicial bodies from any influence of representatives of the executive or legislative authorities, which is equally important in order to achieve the goals set by the law and assigned to these two specialized judicial institutions – SDP warns.

SDP reminds that the FBiH Government, for unknown reasons, did not spend a single mark in 2015 out of the 3.5 million KM allocated for financing obligations under the aforementioned law. Therefore, this party believes that it is high time to proceed with the full implementation of this extremely important law in 2016, which represents a key legal solution aimed at an accelerated and effective fight against corruption and organized crime, writes NAP.
