SDP: The way SDA and HDZ are selling Sarajevo Osiguranje is pure crime

The Social Democratic Party of BiH calls on the Government of the Federation of BiH to immediately abandon the privatization of Sarajevo Osiguranje through the stock exchange, as additional time is needed to conduct a transparent analysis of the justification for the sale, it was announced from SDP BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.  

What is certain is that the sale of the controlling stake of the largest insurance company in BiH through the stock exchange is an extremely bad move, behind which there is a justified suspicion of a dubious and illegal deal.

A sale that provides no guarantees that the future buyer will retain the number of employees and ensure new investments and the continuation of the business is unacceptable from the perspective of the state's interests.

We remind Fadil Novalić's Government that the SDA-HDZ Government of the FBiH recapitalized Sarajevo Osiguranje with more than ten million KM in 2008, and that at that time, one share was paid for from the FBiH budget at 25 KM. Now, the Government is selling those same shares for 13 KM.

This is the most obvious example that the ruling coalition consciously intends to conclude the privatization process in a very dubious manner to the detriment of the state and workers.

SDA and HDZ, under the guise of an arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, are selling everything best we have, not so that these companies work better and are more successful, but because they want to practically give away the remaining state capital to their close party and business associates.

It is obvious that we are witnessing a repeated authorship of SDA-HDZ, as we have seen in the past 20 years, when it comes to the privatization process, the consequences of which are brutally plundered companies, and workers across the country sent to the employment bureau.

If the Government of the FBiH does not abandon its intentions, SDP BiH will file criminal charges against all actors of the new privatization robbery, the statement reads.
