SDP BiH: A New Coalition for the Impoverishment of Citizens and the Economy Has Been Established

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After the adoption of the excise tax increase, it is now completely clear that at the BiH level we have a new coalition consisting of SDA, HDZ BiH, SNSD, SBB, and HDZ 1990, SDP BiH announced.

We expect this new majority, if it already had the strength and will to increase the burden on citizens and the economy, without offering any relief, to also offer answers to hundreds of other problems facing BiH.

Given that all procedures were violated during the consideration of the law on increasing excise taxes, and that this is rewarded with applause, then we can rightly be concerned about the direction in which this coalition will lead BiH.

The essence of democracy is respect for the law and the democratic order. All of this has been trampled upon in order to extort money from citizens for the alleged construction of highways and roads.

This means that every day 500,000 KM will go from citizens for the alleged construction of roads and highways. The current government has done nothing credible in three years, which makes it easy to conclude where and how this money will end up.

In addition, citizens will soon, in addition to the increase in fuel prices, feel chain price increases of goods and services that the population will find difficult to bear. Therefore, SDP, together with DF and other opposition parties, will seek a special debate on the consequences of price increases and the government's measures to mitigate them.

It is obvious that Izetbegović, Čović, Dodik, Radončić, and Cvitanović think they can secure salvation from the obvious electoral debacle of 2018 in this way, but we tell them that it will not happen because the citizens have seen through their intentions.

We are particularly surprised by the support of HDZ 1990, which was in opposition until yesterday, for the ruling majority to further dip their hands into the pockets of BiH citizens.

The coalition for impoverishment has shown its true face, and in the 2018 elections, citizens will have the opportunity to tell them what they think about it.
