SDP BiH presented new member, renowned journalist and publicist Vlastimir Mijović

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina presented its new member and one of the candidates for the Federal Parliament, Vlastimir Mijović.

Damir Mašić, president of the SDP Sarajevo Cantonal Organization, emphasized that the SDP has had several presentations of new members and candidates recently, and announced that similar conferences will be held in the future.

- We are proud that the SDP family is growing and that an increasing number of people are joining the SDP family. This shows that citizens recognize the work of the SDP and the changes that have occurred in the party. We have invested a lot in democratizing the party and were the first to introduce the one member-one vote system. We also recently held a party referendum, thereby further raising the bar in the political life of Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Mašić.

Stating that this process has led to the joining of new people and numerous prominent figures, Mašić introduced Vlastimir Mijović, emphasizing that it is a great honor to have a prominent journalist and intellectual in the party. Mašić also added that he is convinced that Mijović, as well as a large number of new members, and those who will become members in the future, will certainly contribute to the further development of both the SDP and our country as a whole.

In his presentation, Vlastimir Mijović reflected on his long and award-winning journalistic career, stating that he has proven himself in that field, but that new battles must be fought through politics, as this is the last chance.

- I have been working continuously for 43 years. It happened that in my comments I wrote sharp criticisms of everyone, including the SDP, but the SDP has changed from within. As for my motives for entering politics, I decided to enter after weighing the pros and cons. I realized that journalism no longer has the influence it once did, and I wrote to influence social trends.

I remembered Marx's words that the point is to change the world, not just describe it. Journalism describes things, and politics changes things. Hence my decision to engage in politics. I am not entering this as a beginner. Society around us has been changing for the worse. Now I want to give my all to change society for the better. The last bullets are being fired on the political field. That's why we should fight and get out of the black hole we find ourselves in - said Mijović.

Mijović further added that the upcoming elections will be the most important elections in the history of contemporary BiH, and that BiH will become a society of 100 beg families, where others will seek opportunities to leave. In the end, Mijović emphasized that one should stay and fight for one's livelihood, and that the SDP is the only party that can bring prosperity.
