SDP BiH condemns arrest of BiH citizen in Turkey

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the session of the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, satisfaction was expressed with the fact that Denis Bećirović's candidacy has already been supported by a number of entities and individuals from various spectrums of political life.

In the coming days, support is expected from a number of other political and non-governmental organizations for the candidacy of Denis Bećirović.

Regarding the continuation of negotiations with the Venice Commission on amendments to the electoral legislation, satisfaction was expressed with the fact that the Venice Commission confirmed the SDP's position that the issue of elections for the House of Peoples of the FBiH can be resolved at the entity level.

This fact points to the particular responsibility of the SDA and HDZ BiH, who are blocking the consideration of the proposal for the Law on Electoral Units of the FBiH, proposed by the SDP BiH and the DF.

The Presidency of the SDP BiH concluded that the case of the arrest of a student from BiH in Turkey, and the subsequent silence and lack of interest from domestic institutions, confirm that the current government led by the SDA is unable to establish equal relations with the Republic of Turkey, but only vassal-like ones.
