SDP BiH: Dodik embarked on a suicide mission, we demand an immediate reaction from Schmidt

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Regarding the statements of Milorad Dodik at today's session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the Social Democratic Party of BiH calls on all responsible actors of the political order in Bosnia and Herzegovina to get serious and prepare a systematic and structured response to this clear separatist act.

"It is completely clear that Dodik has embarked on a political suicide mission. Its goal is to drag the entire country into conflicts and instability behind the false interests of the people, so that Dodik can hide his tracks of destruction, plunder of public resources, and impoverishment of the citizens of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We expect the state's judicial institutions to immediately take the necessary measures in accordance with their duties, given the urgency of the new situation. It is necessary to immediately prevent Dodik and his followers from continuing to commit the serious criminal offense of undermining the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina through judicial action.

We call on the High Representative, as the most powerful actor in the domestic legal order with the widest powers, to immediately fulfill his duty and sanction those who undermine the Dayton Agreement and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We expect the democratic world to support such activities of the High Representative, and to finally impose sanctions on all those who destabilize the region and hinder the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is high time for the international community to show that it will not tolerate criminal and similar scenarios in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Instead of lamenting by some political actors over failed talks on issues that are, however, secondary at this moment, we call on all political subjects who proclaim statesmanlike action to react and act immediately to prevent an attack on the constitutional order and the state order.

We have been warning about this scenario for months and calling on everyone to direct our energy towards the most direct threat to democracy and the integrity of the state. The goal of any political action must be the protection of the state's sovereignty, the launch of a diplomatic offensive in that direction, and the undertaking of all available legal measures to prevent further destabilization and the implementation of the dark intentions of Dodik and his henchmen," the statement reads.
