SDA: We demand the US Embassy publish evidence for its accusations, we will not succumb to pressure

(Patria) - In June 2022, the US Embassy in Sarajevo accused the SDA of "attempting to block and obstruct corruption investigations, contributing to the dysfunctionality of the Federation of BiH, and preferring division rhetoric over reconciliation rhetoric". On several occasions, both publicly and in direct contact with Ambassador Michael Murphy, we have requested that the US Embassy provide evidence for its claims regarding the SDA's connection to corruption and obstruction of corruption investigations, as well as for other unfounded accusations, the SDA announced on Wednesday.

"We asked them to present this evidence to the public in BiH and to submit it to the judicial institutions. None of that has happened. In the latest decision to place the former director of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, Osman Mehmedagić, on the blacklist, the sweeping accusations against the SDA were repeated and expanded. It is claimed that the former OSA director monitored and wiretapped SDA political opponents and "collaborated with criminal networks to enrich himself and his political party". We once again demand that, instead of serious and general accusations against the SDA, clear and unambiguous evidence be presented to the domestic public and judiciary: which politicians were monitored, when, in which period, what enrichment, how, who got rich, through which criminal network, how much money...

Until that happens, we will consider the serious and untrue accusations that are periodically repeated as merely additional pressure aimed at attempting to forcibly remove the SDA from power, despite election results and outside the BiH Constitution, in favor of the "Trojka" parties, HDZ, and SNSD. The SDA will not succumb to any pressure and will continue to pursue policies that are in the best interest of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, strongly advocate for the EU and NATO path, the rule of law, European standards, equality of all peoples and every citizen throughout the country, and oppose anti-state policies, regardless of their origin," the SDA stated.
