(Patria) - The Assembly of Posavina Canton will decide tomorrow on taking over part of the founding rights of RTV Herceg Bosne. The decision involves 600,000 marks of support from the budget, and is even more difficult for SDA representatives as HDZ partners in the canton's government.
While Božo Ljubić, president of the Main Board of the Croatian National Assembly, publicly threatens war, the SDA is currently silently approving the financing of a radio and television station with the money of all BiH citizens, a station whose establishment is a political project of the HDZ, which continuously works to revive a para-state entity created in a joint criminal enterprise condemned in The Hague.
We were unable to reach the SDA deputies in the Assembly despite persistent calls. They have found themselves in a difficult position, as the HDZ's intentions are impossible to hide, and they are expected to partner in approving such a project. There have even been reports that the SDA's survival in the cantonal government depends on whether the decision passes.
- I wouldn't go that far, I don't know where that information comes from. I know this issue is difficult from the perspective of national relations, but we have already expressed our readiness to finance a television station that Bosniaks believe can represent this area in their interest, Đuro Topić, Prime Minister of Posavina Canton, told Patria.
According to his claims, Posavina Canton will receive 6.1 percent ownership in RTV HZHB, and he sees the reason for accepting founding rights not solely in the national interest of Croats, but in the practical interest of the canton.
- There were considerations to establish Posavina Television, but it turned out that it would cost us more, said Topić.
The decision to take over founding rights passed at the cantonal government session. The Minister of Transport and Communications, Anes Osmanović, did not vote for this decision.
- You should ask the deputies about what will happen. The Assembly session is scheduled for tomorrow, and as far as I know, inter-party agreements are underway, Osmanović told us.
There is no discussion within the Bosniak club, as relations between the SDA and the PDA and SBB coalition have long been strained. It is important for the HDZ only that the protection of the vital national interest of Bosniaks is not invoked tomorrow.
- I don't believe we will have a quorum for discussion within the Bosniak club, because the SDA has betrayed us so many times that we don't want any contact with them. It is clear that the SDA is silent because it wants to protect its positions that it has privatized in the name of Bosniaks. We will see what happens tomorrow, discussions are still ongoing, told us the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mujo Puzić, from the PDA and SBB coalition.
Although the cantonal prime minister claims that the majority is stable, Patria's information is different. For a long time, it has been speculated that the HDZ would be willing to accept other Bosniak representatives in the government of Posavina Canton. Whether the price of participation in power is support for a radio-television station that will be under the control of only one political party could be revealed as early as tomorrow.
