SDA - the party that signed the most 'death sentences' for its founders and best people

SDA BiH was founded on May 26, 1990, at the Founding Assembly held in Sarajevo. During the aggression against BiH, it played a crucial political role in the defense of the country, writes the Patria news agency.

Its first president was Alija Izetbegović, who stepped down from that position in 2001.

The first tectonic shift, in terms of SDA personnel leaving, occurred on April 13, 1996. At that time, Haris Silajdžić left the party and founded the Party for BiH.

A large number of SDA members then followed Silajdžić, including Safet Oručević, Safet Halilović, and the wartime mayor of Brčko, Munib Jusufović, Omer Vatrić...

The next split in the party occurred in 2008. At that time, the Krajina faction, led by Nermin Ogrešević and Rifat Hozanović, separated and formed A-SDA. 

Throughout these years, people who were the personification of SDA left, mostly not of their own free will.

Among the first to do so was one of the founders, the late Omer Behmen.

Under pressure and due to the fact that they disagreed with the moves made by certain individuals, which greatly harmed this party, and because of the reputation they enjoyed among the people, Muhamed Čengić, Hasan Čengić, Edhem Bičakčić, Džemaludin Latić, Ejup Ganić, Bakir Alispahić, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, Ramiz Dreković, Hazim Vikalo, Izudin Kapetanović, Mirsad Veladžić, Rijad Raščić, Rusmir Mahmutčehajić, Izudin Kešetović, Dževad Mlaćo, Kemal Terzić, Nedžad Branković... either distanced themselves from SDA or were 'forcibly' expelled.
