SDA calls on HJPC to appoint Bosniak Chief Prosecutor of BiH Prosecutor's Office

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDA demands that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) finally correct the national imbalance currently present at the top positions in BiH judicial institutions when appointing the Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

- We demand that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council appoint a person of high moral and professional qualities from among Bosniaks, who is not under political influence and who will know how to resist any kind of pressure. We cannot accept the fact that, under the mandate of the current HJPC, non-Bosniaks are usually appointed to leading positions in judicial institutions. In addition to endangering the national balance, which is a constitutional and legal obligation, by a kind of ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks from leadership positions, confidence in the entire justice system is also being jeopardized.

We rightfully ask whether Bosniaks are being removed from leadership positions in the judiciary in order to implement a campaign in which high-ranking officers and soldiers of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina are brought to the defendant's bench at all costs, and in this way an artificial ethnic balance is attempted in the prosecution of war crimes? At the same time, indictments and prosecutions of officers of armed formations that committed aggression against BiH are avoided, even though the crimes they committed were systematic, organized, and massive.

We are also witnessing that the judiciary, which is under the obvious influence of certain political circles, avoids tackling serious cases of corruption, as well as criminal offenses related to direct and public attacks on the constitutional system of BiH - it was announced from SDA.

SDA will oppose such an unacceptable practice with all permissible means and will take all necessary steps to end it.

We remind that Gordana Tadić, Diana Kajmaković, and Munib Halilović are the remaining three candidates in the race for the Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
