SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The SDA Collegium, at its session held today, adopted a series of conclusions and, among other things, called on citizens to continue to disciplinedly implement the measures prescribed by the competent institutions with the aim of preventing the uncontrolled spread of coronavirus infection in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The prescribed measures are yielding results as signs of the pandemic slowing down are appearing. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of recovered people has been higher than the number of infected people in recent days.
"We call on the competent institutions to strictly implement the measures adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH regarding strict control of entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina. The SDA welcomes the agreement on an emergency arrangement with the IMF and a favorable loan of 643 million KM, which will significantly help in the fight against the pandemic and mitigation of economic consequences," it was concluded.
The SDA calls on the FBiH Parliament to urgently adopt the Law on Mitigating the Economic Consequences of the Pandemic, taking into account the real, implementable, and quality amendments from all political entities.
"The SDA calls on the FBiH Parliament and the assemblies of all cantons to urgently adopt their budget rebalances, considering the drop in revenue and, based on a realistic revenue assessment, to direct a significant portion of the budget towards measures to mitigate the economic consequences of the pandemic. We call on municipal levels of government to participate in overcoming the epidemiological and economic crisis in BiH, in accordance with their administrative, financial, and spatial capacities.
The SDA thanks everyone who has provided assistance to BiH in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The aid that is sent must be channeled through the Council of Ministers of BiH. It is not in the spirit of good relations between BiH and those countries that have delivered their aid to only one entity, as the Russian Federation has done, and as Hungary is announcing. The SDA understands this as a deliberate act of bypassing and minimizing state institutions. In this way, the sovereignty of BiH is insulted, and it plays into the hands of division policies in our country," the SDA announced.
