SDA: We welcome the statesmanlike act of Bakir Izetbegović

Sarajevo, (PATRIA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) welcomes the statesmanlike act of the BiH Presidency member and SDA president Bakir Izetbegović yesterday, who clearly stated that our country's foreign policy will not be conducted in Belgrade, but in Sarajevo by the collective head of our state, the party announced.

- Although the wider BiH public welcomed such a move, pseudo-politicians and pseudo-analysts have once again appeared who, at the very least, want to equate responsibility or, indeed, accuse President Izetbegović of an incident. With his reaction, President Izetbegović prevented an incident in which the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Dragan Čović, with the obedience of the BiH Presidency member Mladen Ivanić, attempted to transfer the sovereignty of BiH in foreign policy to a neighboring country, which is unacceptable and required President Izetbegović's reaction.

The two BiH Presidency members, for whom the interests of neighboring countries often take precedence over the interests of their own country, are solely responsible for yesterday's situation.

SDA reiterates that the issue of Kosovo, as well as all other issues of BiH's foreign policy, will be decided in BiH by the consensus of the three BiH Presidency members. This has been the case so far, and it will be the case in the future.

Once again, we call on neighboring countries to build relations with BiH on the basis of mutual respect and respect for the sovereignty of BiH. They have committed to this in the Dayton Peace Agreement, and this is the only way for them to achieve their own interests as well - said SDA.
