SDA policy: They proposed the same budget they fought against four years ago

Exactly four years ago, the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) voted against a budget in which revenues for financing the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina were planned at 950 million KM. At that time, they claimed that such a budget was the most brutal attack on BiH and its institutions, and that it would endanger the functioning of institutions, halt the path towards the EU and NATO, and hinder the work of institutions fighting against crime, corruption, and terrorism, the SDP announced.

- Following the rejection of the budget proposal, the coalition collapsed, and SDA cadres initiated the biggest, longest, and hitherto unprecedented blockade of institutions, such as no other party in BiH had ever implemented.

A few days ago, the Council of Ministers of BiH, led by SDA Chairman Denis Zvizdić, adopted the draft Law on the Budget of BiH Institutions, in which revenues for financing institutions are planned at the identical amount of 950 million KM. This time, there was no mention of progress, fighting terrorism and crime, or the path towards the EU and NATO.

Although we are accustomed to the duplicitous and hypocritical behavior of this party, we are surprised by the new extremes they are willing to go to. The gentlemen from the ruling coalition no longer even bother to hide their lies and deceptions, but completely openly reveal their duplicity.

- We cannot feel responsible, because we pointed out all the harmful consequences. The budget of the state of BiH accounts for 7.3 percent of the total funds, and we are only saving on that 7.3 percent, while we are not saving on the remaining 92.7 percent, because entity budgets are growing. It is unacceptable for entity budgets to grow while only the state budget stagnates, and at the level of three years ago! This is unacceptable, it leads to the strengthening of entities and the weakening of the state, and the SDA will never support it - the SDA stated at the time.

The SDA also justified itself during the adoption of the budget for 2016, which also amounted to 950 million KM, stating that the budget was within the fiscal framework of 2014-2016. However, during the adoption of the fiscal framework for the period 2016-2018, the Fiscal Council, led by Denis Zvizdić, with the control of the IMF delegation, again adopted a budget fiscal framework in the amount of 950 million KM, which is the same amount they vehemently opposed four years ago.

This precisely illustrates how much the SDA cares about the state and its institutions, and therefore we call on them to stop the practice of supposedly protecting BiH and its institutions. Furthermore, they owe it to the citizens to explain whether they misled and lied to them in 2012, or whether they are misleading and lying to them today, when the state budget has been stagnating for eight years? - the SDP states.
