(Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) welcomes the adoption of the report on Bosnia and Herzegovina by the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET), proposed by the rapporteur for BiH Paolo Rangel.
- A very significant part of the report rejects attempts to form para-state institutions, characterizing them as an assault on the state, the legal order, and the independence and sovereignty of the judiciary, and calls on the European Union, as well as the international community as a whole, to use all available instruments, including targeted sanctions, against destabilizing actors in the country.
We consider the call for political actors in BiH to move more decisively towards fulfilling the 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion to be particularly important.
The AFET report is in full agreement with the Brussels Agreement, which was accepted on June 12 by the BiH Presidency and the presidents of most parliamentary parties in the BiH Parliament. The Brussels Agreement and the AFET report are a clear message of the European Union's new determination towards BiH and its European path.
SDA thanks the representatives of the leading groups in the European Parliament: EPP, Greens, SD, and Renew Europe, and calls on all political actors in our country to recognize and seize the opportunity for obtaining candidate status and accelerating the European path that has opened up for BiH - the SDA statement reads.
