SDA and DF put genocide denier and NATO opponent ahead of Nikšić for personal interests!

Nermin Nikšić (SDP) is the chairman of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSA). SDA and DF did not support him. Interestingly, Munib Jusufović (SBB) voted for Nikšić.

With this vote, Jusufović, unlike DF, showed that he will not be just a satellite and a free rider in implementing SDA's policy, which has brought a glimmer of hope to the swamp of the political scene in BiH. While SDA is full of talk about the state and the protection of Bosniaks and all citizens who feel BiH is their country, at the same time they propose for a position a man who denies the genocide in Srebrenica, who directly obstructed and removed the Reform Program and the sending of the Membership Action Plan (MAP) to Brussels from the agenda. Although Mirko Šarović is one of the most popular politicians in BiH, it must not be forgotten, and SDA and DF least of all, which option he belongs to and what his anti-state messages are. He was precisely the biggest critic of the fact that an agreement was reached in the Presidency of BiH and that the Reform Program was sent to Brussels.

Unlike Šarović, Nikšić and his SDP are trying to strengthen the pro-Bosnian idea and, by introducing social democracy throughout the country, are restoring hope for a unified BiH in which every citizen will feel BiH as their own. Members of this party, deputies, and delegates are currently working diligently on initiatives and draft laws that will prevent the denial of genocide. Zlatko Miletić (DF) also called for this today in the House of Peoples, and then his party colleague voted against Nikšić for Šarović, who does not want such a law.

Nikšić's deputies are Sredoje Nović (SNSD) and Predrag Kožul (HDZ).

This was decided at today's constitutive session of this commission in Sarajevo. 
Otherwise, the members of this commission are Safet Softić (SDA), Nenad Stevandić (US), Mirko Šarović (SDS), Zlatan Begić (DF), Asim Sarajlić (SDA), Nikola Špirić (SNSD), Bariša Čolak (HDZ), Marina Pendješ (HDZ), and Munib Jusufović (SBB).

After the constitution of this Commission, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zoran Tegeltija, should initiate the procedure for electing the director, deputy director, and chief inspector of OSA. 
This is necessary because the mandate of the current General Director Osman Mehmedagić, Deputy Trifko Buha, and Chief Inspector Damir Bevanda expired in November 2019.

Representatives of the pro-Bosnian bloc of parties in the Council of Ministers of BiH believe that the appointments of the OSA and SIPA directors should be conducted in parallel, which is why the item on the agenda regarding the appointment of Darko Ćulum as SIPA director was removed from today's session of the Council of Ministers. It is unclear why these two appointments are linked, as they are completely separate entities, but it is evident that SDA is determined at all costs to keep Osman Mehmedagić in this position.

For this, they still need a joint commission for oversight of OSA's work. The Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH supervises the legality of the Agency's work; discusses and provides opinions on the appointment of the General Director and Deputy General Director of the Agency; reviews the Chairman's reports on matters within his jurisdiction, including measures taken to resolve problems in the Agency identified during inspection, audit, or investigation.

This commission also reviews the General Director's reports on the Agency's work and expenses, and specifically analyzes the spending of budget funds; provides opinions on the Agency's detailed budget proposal; reviews the Chief Inspector's reports; requests Agency employees to, with the assistance of the Chairman, provide expert advice when necessary for oversight; conducts investigations into the Agency's work.

The Commission also considers other matters within the scope of the Agency's work in accordance with the Law on the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, as well as other specific laws from which relevant jurisdiction arises.

After the constitutive session, Nikšić stated that the Commission will strive to achieve full control over the legality of the Intelligence-Security Agency's work, that everything within the commission's jurisdiction and capabilities will be done in a completely transparent manner, and that legal powers will be applied.

Nikšić told reporters that, as the president of SDP, he finds the re-election of Osman Mehmedagić as director of OSA BiH unacceptable, but that the appointment will be discussed at the session of the Commission for Oversight of OSA.

DF, whose president Željko Komšić constantly talks about the state of BiH, has shown its lack of state-building sensitivity already at the first test. They have shown that they will only be a blind passenger in implementing SDA's policy. 
The silence regarding the fact that the leadership of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH has had its mandate expire, despite the appointment of a new Council of Ministers of BiH, proves that a plan has been hatched. The cards just need to be laid on the table now. The mandate of the General Director of the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA) of BiH, Osman Mehmedagić, whose diploma was annulled and other diplomas he possesses are questionable, expired on November 19, 2019, but he is still at the head of OSA.

It is known that Bakir Izetbegović, the leader of SDA, during negotiations with coalition partners HDZ and SNSD, insisted that two positions not be touched: that of his wife Sebija Izetbegović – director of KCUS, and the position of OSA director Osman Mehmedagić.

Although SNSD announced that they would not support the appointment of Osman Mehmedagić as OSA BiH director because, as they stated, the agency worked to destabilize the RS entity, they have now reneged on that and apparently tacitly given this function to SDA. However, there is clearly great mistrust among the partners, so the appointment of Darko Ćulum (SIPA) is linked to the appointment of Osman Mehmedagić (OSA), which has not been recorded in previous mandates.
